Virginia State University
As an athlete, Coach Lester was a captain of her high school and college teams and played competitive club volleyball for four years at Oakland Elite.
A graduate of Carman-Ainsworth High School, Deja played collegiate volleyball at Morgan State University and continued her volleyball career playing for Virginia State University while earning her Master’s degree to pursue a career in Health Administration.
She is currently the varsity volleyball coach at Carman-Ainsworth. She has previously coached 7th and 8th grade volleyball at St. John’s middle school and helped coach and lead many volleyball camps throughout her career.
Deja continues to play rec volleyball with her former teammates.
