Summer Camps

Join the most competitive, #1 recruited club in Mid-Michigan for our 2023 Summer Camps. Learn the Five:1 way of training athletes which incorporates motor development science and the latest in volleyball training principles. Campers are guaranteed a high number of repetitions because we believe in order to get better at the game of volleyball, you need to play the game of volleyball.

Staff will include Five:1 Directors, coaching staff as well as some Five:1 Alumni playing collegiate volleyball.
*Our Gym is AIR CONDITIONED!

Attacking

Attacking from footwork, tempo, timing, arm swing and hand shape.  We will work to develop the proper movement patterns to set your athlete on the right track.

In this session we will work on the proper balance, movements, timing and ball locations for successful float serves, top spin serves and jump serves.

Get ready for school and club tryouts with these skill-focused clinics.

Setting / Hitting sessions will work the basic techniques of each skill including footwork pattern, posture, ball placement, contact, and decision making. Setter and Hitters will have the opportunity to combine sessions and work together.

Serving / Passing sessions teach the proper posture and reading for excellent serve receive, including reading, posture, angles and proper execution.  All facets of serving will be covered including jump float serves and topspin, along with basic serving mechanics.

Please bring cash/check upon arrival.  Since each day will build on previous day's participation, no pro-ration is allowed and we will not accept drop-in attendance.  Please plan to attend both days.

First contact is critical to every team's success.  This session will cover serve receive, defense and freeball/downball passing techniques.  As with all of our camps, your athlete will get A LOT of touches and repetitions to learn their platform angles and control.

2nd Contact

In our 2nd contact/setting clinic, athletes will learn setting footwork, balance, hand position and release angles.  We will also cover out of system setting and how to manage non-perfect passes.

Ever feel like the evaluators maybe didn't really get to see all you can do during a tryout? It's a tough situation with a lot of kids coming through the process.  This is an opportunity to  get a little more time in front of coaches prior to tryouts so they can get to know you a little better. This is not in place of an actual tryout.

Setting academy teaches the art of being a setter (far different than the skill of setting the ball).  Athletes will work on location, tempo, movement in addition to learning about how to run a creative offense and making good decisions as the team's offensive leader.
